This year’s Gion Festival was held as usual for the first time in four years
This year the weather was so good that it was almost too hot, and it was crowded with many people.
“Konchikitchin♪”
When you walk down Shijo Street, the sound of Gion Bayashi music can be heard, making you feel the beginning of summer in Kyoto.
Starting this year, we have been doing group activities that go beyond the boundaries of grades and classes!
The second-year students who enrolled last year were leading the first-year students who had just arrived in the country, and they looked just like reliable seniors.
All the groups easily accomplished the task of starting from school, passing through several checkpoints, and taking a photo with the floats at their destination.
By working as a group, we were able to discover new sides to each other, deepen our friendships, and spend a fulfilling day.
The coronavirus pandemic has made us realize that “the usual” was not the norm.
May the “usual Gion Festival” continue for a long time to come?
